Why Science?
Three Kids ExperimentingAt Destination Science, we use science to prepare your child for life!
We make it fun and easy for kids to be excited, curious & confident about science! This early enthusiasm is a huge boost for our children that will help them both in and out of school. They appreciate and value the wonder of the world around them and take better care of it now, and as adults. Developing curiosity makes kids lifelong learners about everything.
Which side of the brain do experts say will be most important in the 21st century?
The RIGHT side, where we develop creativity, imagination, and the emotional intelligence needed to collaborate and develop great relationships with others. In all of our activities, we teach your child how to ask great questions and how to wonder. Every day provides opportunities to create new things and imagine. We even have a special time in the daily schedule for games and activities where your child will work with others to solve fun challenges and problems.
Some grown-ups didn’t have great experiences with science when they were kids. They may think it’s too hard, or boring, or only “just for some people.” Attitude counts a lot in achievement! Wouldn’t it be great if our kids grow-up with positive impressions about science because of the fun they had learning at camp?
Many of our campers will have their interest sparked in ways that motivate them to study more science with confidence and enthusiasm. It will encourage some kids to consider careers in science, engineering, and technology. The imaginative thinking that we develop is also necessary in design, art, music, and other creative fields. That’s good for them, and good for the world.
Why Kids Love DS
Girls Love Science!
—Our daughter loves to dress like a princess and twirl around and dance and now when she does that she spouts science facts like ‘Gravity keeps us to the earth!’”yellow-quote-small
—After attending the Astronaut camp, my daughter started making plans to visit Mars and Venus and other planets along with her kid brother. Thankfully, they have put off the plans to actually travel out until they are older.”
Boys Love Science!
—My son loved camp!!! He couldn’t wait to share what he learned each day when I picked him up. He said ‘this is the best camp ever.’ He was asking to attend again next year before the week was even over. Thank you for helping my son become so interested and excited about science.”
—My son walked into our bedroom at 5:30 a.m. all excited to tell us the difference about potential energy and kinetic energy! He is smitten by science and the curriculum really stuck with him! Thank you for that.”
