Mama Knows Best and Masa Israel Journey launch a First Ever Matchmaking App in Time for Tu B’Av
On Thursday, Mama Knows Best is launching the beta version of their brand-new matchmaking app described as “The Art of Matchmaking Reinvented.”
The app was exclusively released in collaboration with the Masa Israel Journey community for beta testing, a partnership chosen due to the alignment of its networking and community-building goals. The launch coincides with Tu B’Av, the Hebrew Day of Love, ensuring all matchmakers a significant chance to find love for their singles.
Who can be a matchmaker in Mama Knows Best app? Anyone with a single they want to match! Matchmakers can be a mom, aunt, sister, friend, or even a grandma!
In the face of Covid-19, online dating apps saw a resurgence of users as isolation limited in-person interaction. Since the pandemic eight of the largest dating sites saw a 12.6% year-over-year increase in monthly active users. As singles enter the world again, eager to date and find their match, Mama Knows Best matchmaking village takes away the stress from young people who are trying to find love. The matchmaking village is a true community like Masa Israel Journey’s community formed through Fellows, Alumni, and their families. Mama Knows Best creates a place where users can interact, network, and get to know fellow matchmakers, all while finding relevant matches for singles. Joining the app is free and easy, all you need to do is create a matchmaker profile for yourself and a singles profile for any single you want to match.
Users download “Mama Knows Best” free at the App Store for both iPhone and Android users. They then create a profile, animated avatar, upload photos, and input values and best features of the single. Instead of a like button, Mama Knows Best emphasizes the commitment users are looking for with a “yes” button. The app is not only for dating but is also a wonderful way for matchmakers to the network through the chat function. A feature unique to the app is that matchmakers can also share a single’s profile with other matchmakers. The app adds a personal touch with the filtering system to specify singles’ choices based on several customizable tags and features. All questions are aimed to be meaningful yet fun, with ways to get to know each other, including personality traits, values, and willingness to relocate, in Masa Fellows’ cases. Mama Knows Best is currently available for download in the United States and in English, but the app plans to expand to Israel and includes a Hebrew language option in the future.
The matchmaking village opens networks which previous dating sites have not been able to and adds matchmakers’ life experience and wisdom to the equation.
According to Ruth Alfandary, Executive Director of Global Marketing & Sales at Masa, “One of the motivations that most inspires young Jewish adults to embark on the Masa experience is the potential of finding a life partner. We are excited about this new partnership with Mama Knows Best, in order to better help our Masa Fellows and alumni find what they are looking for.”
“Mama Knows Best is inspired by the moms, sisters, grandmas, and more who I have seen and helped try to find love for their singles. I wanted to create a digital community to support matchmakers in a new and relevant way. Masa Israel Journey is the perfect organization to partner with us we have similar values,” said Orly Malka Lubash, Founder of Mama Knows Best. Adding, “Masa has built a wonderful community, and their Fellows continue to engage and support each other. Our goal for Mama Knows Best matchmaking village is to create a similar open, supportive, and long-lasting community.”
