The American Sephardi Federation’s New York Sephardic Jewish Film Festival (NYSJFF)

For more than a week beginning February 23, 2020, and lasting through March 2, 2020, the American Sephardi Federation will present the New York Sephardic Jewish Film Festival at the Center for Jewish History located at 15 West 16th Street in New York City.* What a time to learn about our rich Sephardic history and culture through the lens of film.* Sephardic Jewish history takes us back over a 1000 years in the Middle East and North Africa. The Jews contributed to the fabric of society in all these lands. Let us celebrate it with these exceptional movies. Opening Night will feature the New York premiere of Red Fields with its exceptional Sephardic cast.*

The evening will also feature a special Moroccan Night After Party. On Thursday night, February 27th, which is Iraqi Closing Night, The Wolf of Baghdad will have its American premiere. A special night will be had. On Mexican Night, Monday, March 2nd, a special screening of Leona will be presented at Instituto Cervantes located at 211 East 49th Street in New York City. Come for all the movies in between these dates, too (link for the schedule). You will laugh, you will cry, you will be inspired. Last, but not least, the stories you heard from your parents and grandparents will come to life and become more relevant to your daily life.
