KAYCO CELEBRATES 30 YEARS AT KOSHERFEST AND 70 YEARS OF INNOVATION IN THE KOSHER FOOD MARKET

  • “KAYCO and Kosherfest grew up together,” said Menachem Lubinsky, who spearheaded Kosherfest 30 years ago. “They were with us for the first Kosherfest. Back then there were only a fraction of kosher products available today….”
  • Annual Growth of the Kosher food market is 12%, offering tens of thousands of kosher products

Secaucus / Bayonne, NJ, NOV 13-14, 2018 – It all began with a delicious, sweet and pure grape juice and evolved into the world’s kosher category leader, delivering thousands of products of the highest quality and value to consumers and the food trade in more than 30 countries.

That grape juice was Kedem, and today NJ-based Kayco, known for that iconic kosher beverage, offers the most innovative kosher products across every category.

A family-owned business since 1948, KAYCO helped pave the way for the mass distribution, availability, and consumption of kosher food after World War II with trusted brands like Gefen, Haddar, Glicks and Yehuda, among many others.

By the late 20th century, more and more companies realized that the kosher business was big business, and the kosher food and wine industry exploded in size. This surge in demand for certified kosher products gave rise to the first Kosherfest in 1988.

And so, as Kosherfest http://www.kosherfest.com prepares to launch its fourth decade this November as the world’s largest and most-attended kosher-certified trade show, it could be said that there would be no Kosherfest without KAYCO.

“KAYCO and Kosherfest grew up together,” said Menachem Lubinsky, who spearheaded Kosherfest 30 years ago. “They were with us for the first Kosherfest. Back then there were only a small fraction of the number of kosher products available today. The first Kosherfest kosher food trade show was launched in 1989 following sold-out consumer shows at the Javits Center in New York City.  It was clear from the get-go that the market for kosher products was insatiable and with annual growth of 12% and tens of thousands of products, kosher is definitely making its mark.”

The annual show has evolved into the foremost trade show for kosher market professionals. From leading supermarkets and wholesale clubs, to independent stores and health food chains, buyers attend Kosherfest to see what’s new, trending and would be exciting additions to their lines.

Fueled by its commitment to innovative product development, KAYCO continues to satisfy consumers’ growing demand for kosher products. Its portfolio today includes more than 100 brands and over 3,000 products, many of which can be found at regional and national outlets including Walmart, COSTCO, Shoprite, Amazon and other leading retailers.

The boom in the kosher industry is partly due to the public’s increasingly sophisticated palate and overall desire for a healthier lifestyle. “That kosher symbol represents quality and value for kosher and non-kosher consumers alike,” explained Charles Herzog, head of product innovation for KAYCO. ““People today are wanting to eat ‘clean.’ It matters to them where their food comes from, how it’s grown, and how it’s prepared. It has to be on trend. And above all, it has to be delicious.”
