The 27th Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow Through The Lens of Weronika Suchodolsha

Contemporary cantors’ choirs draw on the biblical tradition of the Levites who played the important role of singers in the Jerusalem Temple. Psalm 122 belongs to the fifteen Psalms which are called “the songs of steps” or “the songs of ascents” (Shir hamaalot in Hebrew). One of the most outstanding choirs, Kolot Min Hashamayim in memory of Shoshana Zilberstein conducted by Maestro Rafael Biton and the accompanying cantors Tzudik Greenwald, Berel Tzuker and Moshe Fishel took the audience back to Jerusalem at its best, the time of the Temple.

Maestro Rafael Biton  – conductor, student of Elli Yaffe; founder of the Malachim Music School and Kolot Min Hashamayim in Memory of Shoshana Zilberstein Choir.
