About the Artist
I utilize the visual arts, writing projects and scholarship to explore the interaction between the spiritual life of humanity and our sometimes-sad shared reality. My work is hardly religious, but it explores humans’ attempts to make sense of this world and our shared struggle to develop and live by a moral code. At the very best, I hope that my art will have an activist influence, causing viewers to question their own personal roles in making the world a better place to live.
I work in series: I begin with a philosophical and activist impulse, proceed through reading on the subject, writing, drawing and then, finally, to creating a body of work in response to the particular issue at hand. I have undertaken a series of projects as part of this ongoing inquiry. I painted three bodies of work based in the highest impulses of the Abrahamic faiths – the Sufi masters of Islam, the Baal Shem Tov of Judaism and Meister Eckhart of Christianity. I followed this with my Human Rights Painting Project, in conjunction with Amnesty International. This series of portraits highlighted human rights advocates from around the world and the vital work of Amnesty International. I have also undertaken a project entitled Shalom/Salaam, based in a virtually unknown tale of mystical intermingling between Jewish and Muslim mystics over nearly a thousand years of human history. I created a series of paintings entitled Response to Machiavelli, which looks at the small-minded, self-serving state of our current political system and uses the philosophy of great social thinkers from the past few millennia to propose another, more caring way. Lastly, I have explored the lie of classical mysticism through my series In the Garden of the Mystical Redoubt.
In addition to writing and painting, I partner with well-known individuals and non-profit groups working on the same issues; present my ideas at conferences; sponsor interfaith events in conjunction with my exhibits and reach out through the mass media with my ideas, all in the hopes of effecting positive change in the society at large.
Please browse through our six separate galleries, ranging from traditional art to modern to Judaica and to my own works in oil or watercolor. Most are framed and we do custom framing on demand.

West Side Judaica is an amazing resource. Great selection of books, art, kippot, mezuzot, and even cookware. The best part is their staff – very friendly and knowledgeable.
In the past year, I’ve purchased a few dozen kosher mezuzot, cases, some knit kippot, a few books and siddurim, and a wonderful hot-water urn with a Shabbat mode. I even bought my travel sukkah from them. Everything you need, all in one place.

Igal Fedida
“Painting is an intuitive process for me; a very personal pilgrimage in search of a truth greater than myself intertwining the human capacity to create to the infinite creativity of the supreme Maker.”
Igal Fedida’s life and work has orbited around his interest in the arts. From an early age, in his native home of Israel, Igal exhibited a keen sentience for shape and form, developing a penetrating cognition for composition and design. This led him to the United States where he architected the construction of buildings, incorporating his creative design talents with natural communication and logistics skills building a successful entrepreneurship.
A close affinity to nature drew Igal to broaden his artistic palette by studying photography in depth at UCLA. He then traversed the globe capturing stills and moments of nature attempting to expressively interact with the beautiful essence of creation, developing a unique style of blending Polaroid with water color.
Igal’s true transformative artistic style emerged when he incorporated rough raw structural materials such as woods, metals, unconventional construction paints along with other mixed media to brush and canvas. Utilizing his building skills and knowledge of form and function, Igal began to amalgamate, emulate and unite the creation of the world through his art. His spirited soul had finally found its voice and inimitable language of expressive prayer communing with G-d and creation.
The Genesis Series, currently on display in New York and Miami, is a chromatic treatise on the meaning of creation, visually exploding with colors, blending basic building materials with unique creative form, coalescing theory and allegory like Big Bang and Adam & Eve. The series reflects the soul searching journey of a lifetime steeped in meditation of Biblical, Talmudic and Kabalistic sources in a search for meaning as well as emotional and artistic meeting points with G-d.
“I believe that just as G-d holds a bank of souls that are sent to earth in the form of new lives throughout eternity, G-d similarly holds a bank of divine images that are meant to be given to us mortals through channels called artists.”
“I don’t plan what I paint, I close my eyes and some unseen force drives my brush, and when I am finished, I open my eyes in awe of what present was given to me.”
Igal lives joyously with his wife Efrat and children Ohad, Asaf, Yanay, and Tamar in Miami. Each week he travels to his studio on First Avenue in New York City, where you can find him either serving fresh steeped green tea and figs to clients and friends, or absorbed at his hand-made workstation surrounded by paints and the mixed construction materials of his craft engaged in the creative process. Igal Fedida is available for lectures and seminars. His works are on display and are available for corporate and educational shows and events. His gallery in New York has become a gathering place hosting many soirees and events. Igal has also introduced a Creative Arts Initiative program with local schools to inspire young artists bringing the creative arts to the classroom.
