SOLD OUT EVENT UNDERSCORES SURGING CONSUMER INTEREST IN INTRIGUING SPECIALTY FOODS AND WORLD-CLASS WINE

The 14th annual Kosher Food & Wine Experience (KFWE) once again showcased the public’s ceaseless obsession with international cuisine and the ever-growing demand for top-drawer wines that happen to be kosher. Like a kosher United Nations assembly, it featured sips and small plates representing the latest from Israel, Chile, Japan, France, Argentina, Spain, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, California, and all points in between.

New York’s premier kosher food and wine extravaganza were hosted by Royal Wine Corp. on Monday, February 17 at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. Thousands of hungry attendees – members of the public as well as professionals from the kosher food and beverage industry – lined up shoulder-to-shoulder to taste today’s most innovative creations from top kosher chefs, caterers, and vendors. The diverse offerings ranged from kosher poke and street tacos to barbecue-style smoked salmon and creamy non-diary frozen gelato pops.

And because no great meal is complete without great wine, thousands of bottles of exceptional new releases were poured, representing more than 60 wineries from nearly every wine-producing region in the world.

“An extraordinary bounty of wines from all over the world is coming to market in 2020,” said Nathan Herzog, President, Royal Wine. “This year’s most extraordinary bottlings included Château Léoville Poyferré Saint Julien 2017, Château Giscours Margaux 2017, Flam Noble 2016, Champagne Drappier Rosé de Saignée, and Herzog Single Vineyard Calistoga 2016.”

Also highlighting this year’s KFWE was the 30th anniversary of kosher wine production by the venerated House of Rothschild. “We were delighted to celebrate with the introduction of Barons Edmond and Benjamin de Rothschild Haut-Médoc Anniversary Edition 2016 and their first-ever Kosher Château Clarke Listrac-Médoc 2016,” said Herzog.

Every year sees more and more kosher wines earning top scores and prestigious awards from the industry.”
